Why do some men think women divorce them so they can "cash in" on marital assets?

Unfortunately, most of them are older married men. Extremely conservative.. I wonder what they would think if the WIFE was the breadwinner and the husband wanted 1/2 of everything. Then what? I didn't go down that rabbit hole.
